Level 3 Drought

Massachusetts Drought Status

From CISMA-SuAsCo

Due to five months of below normal rainfall, Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary Bethany Card declared a Level 3 – Critical Drought in the Northeast, Connecticut River Valley, Southeast and Central Regions, a Level 2 – Significant Drought in the Cape Cod Region, and a Level 1 – Mild Drought in the Western and Islands Regions of the Commonwealth.

EEA and MEMA continue to ask residents, businesses, and farms to conserve water and be aware of the severity of this drought. Here is a “Drought Alert” document that provides information on the current drought conditions and how communities across the Commonwealth can do their part on water conservation and drought preparedness. Also here are infographics for Levels 1, 2 and 3 droughts.
