On Saturday, March 17th, there were leprechauns, snowshoers and hikers in the Hartwell Family Memorial Preserve in Littleton!
Jim O’Neil, LCT Director of Land Stewardship, Dwight Long and Dan Hurley, Hartwell Land Stewards and Scott Lewis, LCT Trustee, guided a snowshoe and hike for 17 enthusiastic people from Littleton and Westford. Among the group were Don Maciver, LCT President, Lori Pelrine, LCT Communications Volunteer and Daedra Jones, LCT Treasurer.
The weather was near perfect with the forest shielding us from the winds and the sunshine providing some warmth. Dan and Dwight had cleared fallen trees and broken limbs during the week so we had a mostly obstacle-free route. The group saw the forest, eskers, Beaver Brook and surrounding wetlands and a few surprise guests appropriate to the date!
Here are some photos to highlight the fun day we all had appreciating Littleton conservation land and being outdoors with a nice group of people. Click the first photo to view as a slideshow.
