As Littleton quickly moves from a small town to one with rapid development we should ask ourselves “what can be preserved and what are the benefits?”
Join Littleton resident, Shade Tree Committee member, and Urban Forester Mathew Cahill for a deeper look into Littleton’s shade trees. Discover the benefits that trees provide our homes and community, and learn how to calculate these benefits for yourself. Learn about the ecosystem services provided by our trees and open spaces, which trees are being recommended by the Shade Tree Committee, and how to participate in the town’s Green Rewards program. Discover the impacts of invasive insects that have destroyed trees on the Common, and learn about the replanting efforts already underway.
