Weed Warrior Training with SVT

Saturday, November 6, 2021
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Do you want to know more about the invasive plants threatening our local natural areas? Come learn with Weed Warriors!

At this training event, professional conservationists from SVT, Littleton Conservation Commission and Littleton Conservation Trust will introduce you to some of the most prolific invasive species spreading through Massachusetts. You will first learn practical identification and management tactics. Then, during the second part of this training, we will put knowledge to action and remove invasive plants by hand. Wear warm, comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, long pants and gloves. Bring along water and snacks. Children 11 and older must be accompanied by an adult. Be aware of scattered poison ivy presence.

This training is being held as part of a collaborative effort among SVT, Littleton Conservation Commission, and Littleton Conservation Trust to expand the Weed Warriors Program to the Town of Littleton. Though designed for Littleton residents to make a local environmental impact, this event is also open to other community members depending on space availability.

A Weed Warriors training event is the first step to becoming a Certified Weed Warrior. If you would like to know more about the Weed Warrior Program as a whole, please visit the CISMA Webpage. More specific details, as well as an event waiver, will be sent out following registration.
