Will we have a Winter Wonderland again for January 20th? Whether we do, or we do not, a walk through Williams Conservation Land is one of the most beautiful you’ll see in Littleton!
Come walk with us through this 32.25 acre property! Last year the Yellow Loop Trail was extended to give us access to even more of this wonderful property. Trail Blazes were added to this Yellow Trail including the extension in each direction. (NOTE: there are areas where Yellow Flagging, instead of Blazes, had to be added to saplings due to the lack of full grown trees in the area).
The event is scheduled for 2 hours although it should not take that long to walk the entire loop trail.
In order to prepare for the walk please bring:
- Waterproof Boots (expect either mud or snow on the ground) or Hiking Boots (there will be uneven grounds)
- Walking sticks (if you have them and find them helpful)
- Layer Up Well
- Wearing Hi-Viz or Orange is advisable this time of year!
- A Water Bottle
- Be aware if the weather warms up above freezing during the end of this week into the weekend there WILL be ticks out there and you may want to take appropriate precautions
PARKING: Boxborough Road has limited parking available. There are a few parking spots on the road itself near the Williams Land Trailhead Sign. Past the Trailhead Sign on the left side of the road there is another small area labeled with a sign for Trail Parking (it is a very small lot that can fit a few cars inside of it).
Carpooling is preferred. One option is to park at the Newtown Hill Conservation Area Parking Lot (near 565 Newtown Rd) and carpool from there to Boxborough Road.
There is NO rain date scheduled for this event at this time. If it rains too heavily to have the walk we will cancel and reschedule for a future weekend. We will watch the weather and make the call if we need to cancel by the evening before. Check the website or Facebook the morning of the walk if the weather looks doubtful.
