This year’s Hidden Treasures is a month-long series of events. This one is a collaboration between LCT, AMC and Freedoms Way and takes place at Oak Hill Conservation Area.
This is an AMC event, please register at their site: http://activities.outdoors.org/search/index.cfm/action/details/id/95682 (contact the coordinator listed in the description on their website).
Join us to explore Oak Hill and Tophet Chasm, formed by glaciers with 80′ high walls. We’ll hike and see forested trails, stagecoach roads carved by iron clad carriage wheels, Cold War Era Air Force radio signal tower remains, and sweeping views with a SW vista of Boston Sky Scrapers.
This is an easy to moderate 4 mile hike. Don MacIver, President, Littleton Conservation Trust, will lead this hike. We’ll meet at 12:45 pm and expect the hike will end around 4 pm. This hike is also part of the Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area (FWNHA) Hidden Treasures series.
Prepare for the weather, wear sturdy shoes/boots, and bring water, snacks, hat, perhaps bug spray, and a spirit of adventure. The 220 acre Oak Hill Conservation Reservation has 6 miles of trails and an elevation of 600 feet.
